Share Server Drive C:\

This is a reserved area designed to assist those who have purchased Church Management Solutions products.

In this situation, you may have two or more computers networked together.  You may choose to install CMS on a computer that will also be using CMS.  The server computer is running Windows XP Home Edition.

On the computer that will be functioning as the “server”, follow the steps outlined on the Single Computer Installation Instructions to set up your CMS System.

Once the installation is complete, go to My Computer and right click the Local Disk C: drive and choose Sharing.

Click the checkbox under Network Sharing and Security at Share this folder on the network, and click the checkbox at Allow network users to change my files.  Click Apply | OK.  (Using the Share Name C or C$).

Once complete, the peer to peer server installation is complete.  You can now move on to the workstations.

Workstation installation and setup (peer to peer)

Before beginning installation, you must map a drive letter to the server’s drive C: (\\servername\C).

Go to My Computer and from the pull down menu, choose Tools | Map Network Drive.

Click the Browse button and use Network Neighborhood to browse to the Server Name.  Select the C folder.  Verify the checkmark at Reconnect at Logon. Click Finish.

Insert the CMS Installation CD in your CD drive.  The setup should begin automatically.

Click the Install CMS Products button to begin the setup wizard.

Click Next at the Welcome screen.

Click the checkbox at either the CMS People Products Workstation installation or the CMS Fund Accounting Workstation Installation.

The installation wizard will ask if you wish to scan for a previous installation, answer Yes.

You must verify the location for your CMS System.

The Destination Folder should be the network drive letter you mapped above.

If the destination folder defaults to another location, click the Browse button and choose the mapped drive letter.

 Click Next.

Confirm your installation settings and click Next.

The installation wizard will proceed to install your CMS.

After a few moments, you will be asked if you would like to add the CMS icon to your desktop.  Answer Yes.

Double click the CMS icon on your Windows Desktop.

This workstation installation is now complete!
